Dr. Mark Cohen earned his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from The Ohio State University in 1974. His training emphasized family psychotherapy at the time when this field was in its early stages of development. He was able to meet and learn from many of the founders of what was an exciting new approach to treatment.

Throughout his career, Dr. Cohen has practiced and trained professionals in individual, group, couples, marital and family therapy, and has developed and administered numerous mental health programs. He has worked at the University of South Dakota’s Clinical Psychology Doctoral Training Program (1974–1978), the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center and University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, which included University Hospital, Oklahoma City Children’s Memorial Hospital and Child Study Center (1978–1983), the Cincinnati VA Medical Center (1983–2007, retired) and University of Cincinnati College of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry (1984–2008, retired).

Dr. Cohen has held faculty appointments at the University of South Dakota, University of Oklahoma College of Medicine Departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry, and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine Department of Psychiatry.

Dr. Cohen is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Cincinnati Academy of Professional Psychology and is listed on the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology.
